HW Virtual Serial Port can create a universal serial port driver for redirecting sent data to a determinated TCP/IP port and address. It was originally created for supporting HW devices.
Once the HW Virtual Serial Port Driver is installed, for those applications involving GPRS devices, user PC can be set to operate in TCP Server mode, initializing the connection when sending RS232 data to the remote port, the converter sets the serial connection and give the information away to the created virtual COMn serial port.
The application supplies baudrate emulation by selecting the apropriated options in the 'Settings' window to make sure the Virtual Serial Port uses the speed that is selected for this port, so no data gets lost when buffer runs overflow.
All the configuration settings, containing complete VSP configuration, are stored in an INI file (no longer in the system registry), so it always can be backed up and/or restored any time, as well as being restored to a different PC or to a server, just copying the INI file and restarting the port service. When service is restarted, the application reads the INI file and sets the port to the saved parameters. The configuration is password protected.
The application can run as a stand-alone, as well as a NT service. It supports Windows Vista, all 32-bit Windows OS and Server versions..
